Not everyone has groups of sewing friends, so why not try out a day where you can meet some like-minded people? Perhaps you're looking for a space where you can bring along your PAT tested sewing machine, your project and feel inspired? Maybe you’re after nothing more than a blissful day of sitting and sewing?
With enough space for up to eight people to meet, use the facilities and make yourselves at home - The Quilting Studio ticks all the boxes. This is a lovely chance to unwind, socialise and make a few new friends. You might even pick up some new tips and tricks along the way.
A kitchen, washroom, lockers and break facilities are all available in this bespoke studio. Just bring along a packed lunch to keep you energised for the afternoon. Mixing up your creative space and collaborating with others might just take your latest project to the next level.
We have a large ironing station and a standard sized iron, a large design wall, and a large cutting station, with various rulers and 45mm rotary cutters available for use. Each of the 8 sewing stations have full kits for use while you are here, inclusive of a 25mm rotary cutter, an A3 cutting board, and A3 woollen ironing pad, a small quilters iron, pins, wonder clips, scissors, best press, needles, thread, seam rippers, tape measure and a 2.5 x 12.5 inch ruler, hopefully, we have thought of everything.
You truly only have to bring a sewing machine, your project and a packed lunch.
The kitchen is fully stocked with coffee/decaf, tea/decaf, earl grey, hot chocolate, sugar, sweeteners and squash to help yourself to throughout the day. All we ask is that there are no food or drinks in the sewing room, unless your drink is in a spill proof mug, and we also have those available for use too. There is a break room with comfy chairs to take a snack break or eat your packed lunch.
You can even bring slippers/indoor shoes if that’s how you sew, just use a locker for your bags and outdoor shoes and get comfy.
We do have a few basic sewing machines for use if you would prefer not to bring your own, but they are very basic, they were purchased for our beginner classes, for those without sewing machines. So, it may be advisable to bring along your own.
We do have 4 parking spaces adjacent to the studio, so please car share where possible, and we ask if you can please park on the shingle to the left of the studio, rather than the block paving, it is a stipulation of our rental contract, out landlord lives on site.
