Workshop - Pineapple Quilt Block - Beginner Friendly

The pineapple quilt block is believed to have emerged in the mid-1800's during Lincoln's presidential campaign, the pineapple quilt block was, and still is, a symbol of opulence and hospitality. As a variation of the log cabin quilt pattern, the pineapple quilt pattern uses similar layering methods in the composition of its blocks. 

Pineapple quilt patterns are an excellent opportunity to play with color, and the pattern exists in simplified and complex versions. Pineapple quilt blocks are also often paper pieced, to give their strips precise and sharp edges. However, now the block can be made with NO foundation paper in sight.

With the Trim Tool you will learn to create perfect 6in, 8in or 10 in finished pineapple blocks by squaring up each round of strips as you go. Since each round of strips is squared up before the next set is added, the blocks are perfectly square.
